A luxury retail company in Dubai is seeking a Junior Buyer to manage purchasing for Gymshark. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in the buying field, particularly within activewear or lifestyle brands. Key responsibilities include developing product strategies, managing brand relationships, and analyzing market trends. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and negotiation skills are essential. Working closely with the buying lead, the Junior buyer takes ownership for Gymshark, and drives sales through its purchases of high-quality merchandise at the most advantageous price. The Junior buyer ensures proper management of their brand relationships and is responsible for the end-to-end product process.
Strategic Roles and Responsibilities
Develops a detailed understanding of their department and the market trends for Gymshark.
Works closely with their Buyer/line manager to clearly define the product strategy and operates in collaboration with Gymshark to execute this via the right assortment.
Takes on board store team and customer feedback in order to range build the assortment for their particular category.
Regularly presents and updates VP buying/Head of buying along with the Buyer with performance insights and analysis. Reacts quickly to feedback and requests from senior management.
Functional Roles and Responsibilities
Research and sourcing, industry trends and approaches new brands or products areas to include within the portfolio.
Maintain regular communication with suppliers as applicable. Assist with the efficient ordering delivery and payment of merchandise to reduce the likelihood of queries and problems.
To assist the Buyer to research and select from home and abroad, the best quality merchandise suppliers have to offer at the best price to maximize sales and profit margins. In conjunction with the Buyer to control the selection of merchandise for the Sales within the agreed markdown and to reach the agreed stock level.
Place re-orders as applicable in consultation with buyers and communicate relevant information to all relevant parties in planning and supply chain.
Maintain accurate database of vendor agreements and forward completed vendor agreements to Merchandise Planning.
Consolidate buying feedback reports and provide buyers with reports and recommendations per brand portfolio

4 years' experience in the Buying field, for a comparable retail brand across activewear or lifestyle brands
Microsoft office proficient
Ability to create product and trend presentations.
Brand management and negotiation
Ability to travel frequently depending on the needs of the business
