Responsible for monitoring direct and indirect patient care to achieve optimal outcomes. Provides patient care within the regulatory body's scope of practice, organization policies, and the Unit Scope of Service. Takes accountability for own practice, ensuring tasks are within competence. Guides nursing staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care. Coordinates interdisciplinary team activities to ensure patient and family-centered care. Acts as a patient advocate, supporting patients' rights and dignity. Coordinates referrals and utilizes available resources for comprehensive care. Promotes evidence-based practice and fosters a multicultural environment. Administers medications following policies, understanding medication actions and contraindications, evaluating patient responses, and managing side effects. Ensures narcotic and controlled drug monitoring, storage, and administration comply with policies. Collaborates with pharmacy services and reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors. Responds appropriately to emergencies.
