Overview of the role:

Data Scientist with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (Gen AI) to develop advanced solutions tailored for the Contracting and Construction industry. The candidate should possess deep knowledge of data science methodologies, machine learning, and domain-specific applications to drive efficiency, innovation, and decision-making in this sector

What you will do:

• Analyze industry-specific data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights for Contracting and Construction operations, including
• cost forecasting
• resource/material demand planning
• document analysis and summarizing
• Develop, test, and implement AI and Gen AI models tailored to project management, contract lifecycle management and safety monitoring.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions specific to contracting workflows and processes.
• Apply Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to automate commercial contract analysis, bid proposal generation, and compliance checks.
• Build predictive models for material procurement, equipment utilization, and workforce allocation.
• Optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency by deploying machine learning algorithms for real-time decision-making
• Integrate AI tools into existing platforms and ensure scalability and security of deployed solutions within contracting frameworks.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear visualizations and reports, highlighting the impact on project timelines and budgets

Required skills to be successful:

Technical Skills:

• Hands-On experience in leading, designing, and implementing end-to-end data science products.
• An excellent understanding of both traditional statistical modeling and Machine Learning techniques and algorithms like Regression, classification, clustering, ensemble methods (random forest, gradient boosting), Neural Networks, etc.
• Proficient in understanding and analyzing business requirements, building predictive models, designing experiments, testing hypothesis, and interpreting statistical results into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Hands-on experience in information extraction using various NLP algorithms
• Experience in RAG and Langchain to summarize documents, custom LLM (Large Language Models) integration.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing AI solutions
• Hands-on experience in feature reduction techniques using PCA, K-best using Chi-Square, and feature engineering (exploratory data analysis, transforming data, missing value treatment, outlier detection, and value standardization).
• Has a strong understanding of K-Nearest Neighbor, Gradient Boosting, XGBoost, Decision Tree, Random Forest, K-Mean Clustering, Regularization (LASSO, RIDGE), Strongly connected Neural Networks, descriptive and inferential statistical tests such as Z, T, F, Chi-Square, and Hypothesis analysis
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R.
• Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and Keras.
• Proficiency in Natural Language Processing (NLP) libraries and GPT-based APIs.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases for data management.
• Proficiency in data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering.

Minimum Qualifications, Certification and Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields (Master's degree preferred).
• Relevant certifications in data science, AI, machine learning, or Gen AI technologies are a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an environment with cross-functional teams.
• Minimum 7 years’ work experience in AI and/or Advanced Analytics
