Day to Day Operations

• Be fully familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues.
• Carry out Structural discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team to ensure the timely deliverables as per schedule and adhering to international standards/local regulations.
• Support in plan, budget, organize and control a segment of the Structural engineering deliverables for the project.
• Experience in design of supports for HVDC equipment’s inline with the OEM supplier requirements.
• Providing weight optimization solutions for the Topsides.
• Perform/Review Topsides Structural design, Loadout design including Grillage and sea-fastening and sea-transportation design.
• Ensuring close integrations between the engineering design and fabrication and the design developed is compactible to the fabrication schedule/costing.
• Interface with all disciplines to develop clash free designs.
• Interface with other departments to obtain input for discipline design and drawings.
• Provide direction and guidance on all Structural engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties.
• Prepare/Review Discipline engineering design basis, MTO, drawings and technical specifications as required.
• Prepare and review design reports and procedures.
• Prepare/Review Weight Control Procedures/Report.
• Maintain close co-ordination with other engineering disciplines, planning, fabrication, Marine and project management team as required.
• Liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
• Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceeding with their deliverables.
• Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline.
• Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up.
• Assist in the coordination of all activities related to Structural engineering design.
• Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
• Record the lessons learned from previous contracts in order to implement corrections in future contracts.
• Plan and maintain manpower and other resources required for smooth operation of the Structural team for project and tender execution.
• Estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
• Plan, organize and supervise the activities assigned to Structural discipline subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific project of Structural engineering activity is carried out in accordance.
• Travel short term or long term as per project requirements within or outside UAE adhere to DDWD travel or relocation policy as applicable.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in design office or EPC for Topsides Structures.
• Experience with performing FEED design, FEED Verification & Detail Engineering for Structural Discipline.
• Experience in Loadout, T&I, SPMT, Sea-transportation of Topsides.
• Delivered at least one 30,000MT mega project in design stage.
• Familiar with Stress-Skin type of design of Topsides preferably experience in HVDC Topsides design.
• Fully trained and knowledgeable with relevant Structural Codes & standards, Safety and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
• Broad technical knowledge of engineering & designing of Topsides Structures in basic, detail and closeout engineering.
• Strong know how in 2GW projects in European Offshore Substation projects.
• Good knowledge on the in service and preservice design of HVDC Topsides and associated engineering.
• Project management skills.
