Chief Data Officer (CDO)

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Data Officer (CDO) to lead our data-driven initiatives. As the CDO, you will oversee data architecture, data governance, and the development and deployment of machine learning models across the organization. You will play a critical role in transforming data into valuable insights and driving strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture, data management, and advanced analytics techniques, alongside a proven track record in leading machine learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's business goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-impact use cases for machine learning and advanced analytics.
• Ensure our data strategy, use of AI tools, and data science translates into increases in core metrics and results in significant competitive advantage.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the data architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of data systems.
• Lead and manage a team of data architects, data engineers, and data scientists to support various business functions across the organization.
• Lead the development and deployment of machine learning models, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and deliver actionable business insights.
• Manage the end-to-end machine learning pipeline, including data preprocessing, model training, model validation, and model monitoring.
• Ensure that machine learning models are regularly evaluated for performance and updated as necessary to adapt to changing business conditions.

• Data Architecture & ML Models: Expertise in building and deploying machine learning models and pipelines using industry-standard tools, programming languages, and platforms.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing data strategy, architecture, and machine learning initiatives.
• Strong background in data architecture, including experience with data warehousing, cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and data processing technologies.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and scaling machine learning models and data pipelines in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of data governance, privacy laws, and data security best practices.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and driving collaboration across technical and non-technical departments.
• Excellent English skills a must.
