Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and lead the year-end audit process liaising with external auditors.
- Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and mentorship.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend improvements for financial performance.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic decision-making.
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations prepared by the accounting staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial control.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and related regulatory requirements in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting tools is essential.
