Job summary
A chemical manufacturing company in Cape Town is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with safety and ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and managerial experience in an ISO-accredited environment. Responsibilities include overseeing budgets, leading a maintenance team, and maintaining effective communication with production teams.
Qualifications
- 5-6 years’ managerial experience in a fast-paced, ISO-accredited manufacturing environment.
- Strong project costing, budgeting, and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of OHS Act and ISO standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OHS, Environmental, and ISO standards.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across production, warehousing, and facilities.
- Lead and motivate the maintenance team for optimal performance.
- Manage maintenance budgets, costs, and project implementation.
- Maintain relationships with service providers and ensure tool/equipment readiness.
- Drive communication between maintenance and production teams.
- Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance schedules.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and ISO standards while managing budgets, staff, and contractors through effective preventive and breakdown maintenance planning.
Salary: Up to R75,000 CTC per month, negotiable.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Millwright trade.
- 5–6 years’ managerial experience in a fast-paced, ISO‑accredited manufacturing environment.
- Strong project costing, budgeting, and administrative skills.
- Excellent MS Office proficiency and knowledge of OHS Act and ISO standards.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and reliable transport.
