Remuneration : Market Related dependent on skill set, knowledge, and experiencePurpose Of The Job : Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified Logistics Manager to oversee the logistics department and to ensure that the vehicles arrive in the necessary locations effectively and efficiently.To be successful in this role, the candidate will hold responsibility of ensuring the vehicles are delivered to the right location on time, to the quality required and in the most cost-effective way.

They should oversee the distribution and transportation of vehicles from the manufacturer to the port, to various dealers.Ultimately, the candidate will ensure that their area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to the company's success in the long run.Duties :

Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates

Planning and monitoring inbound and outgoing deliveries

Handling release of vehicles from port to storage facility

Supervising logistics and transportation of vehicles from the storage facility to dealerships

Organizing process shipments for the vehicles

Requesting Manufacturer certificates & certifying the certificates

Liaising with the Freight Company to ensure that vehicles reach the PDI dealership timeously

Responding to any issues or complaints

Researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers

Working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations

Evaluating budgets and expenditures

Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements

Ensuring all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements

Any ad hoc requirements requested from Senior Management

Skills :

In-depth knowledge of the automotive industry

Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management software

Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development

Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills

Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills

Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilment

Excellent attention to detail skills

Requirements :

5 – 10 years proven work experience in the logistics industry, as a Logistics Manager

Automotive Industry experience is highly beneficial

Experience in both Import and Export operations ESSENTIAL!!

Post graduate logistics / supply chain / relevant field qualification required

Valid driver's license
