Qualifications
Qualification: Matric, plus a relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture or Logistics.
Requirements
Requirements: Minimum 10 years in an operational logistics management role in South African Agriculture is essential.

Purpose of role
Purpose of role:
- To guide the company towards high levels of performance and cost efficiency in all logistics and related activities.
- Oversee all logistics aspects of the Agri business nationwide and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead and drive the company’s logistics strategy and planning.
- Responsible for developing KPIs and routinely assessing the logistics performance of the company as well as identifying and addressing potential risks and concerns.
Main functions and responsibilities
- Oversee all routine logistics activities nationwide.
- Oversee all transport and fleet management activities nationwide.
- Negotiating transport rates and arrangements nationwide.
- Lead and drive logistics strategy and planning.
- Lead and manage customer care functions to provide industry leading levels of performance and service toward customers.
- Inventory Management – responsible and accountable for stock under their control – e.g. mitigating and pro-active measures like security, cycle counts and other related good inventory practices.
- Actively assist with executing stocktakes and reconciliations, including pro-active management of consignment stock.
- Legal compliance including but not limited to Dangerous goods storage and transport regulations.
- Identify and track key KPIs to drive performance and meet any group requirements.
- Assist with budgeting and monitoring of performance vs budget (Logistics related).
- Prepare Tax pack on a monthly basis.
- Compliance to Groups policies and directives.
- Attend and report at various operational meetings e.g. MANCO meetings.
- Promote and adhere to the company’s culture and values, always ensuring responsible management of resources and maintenance of high standards and discipline within the logistics department nationwide.
- Responsibilities are not limited to the above but includes all aspects relating to operational logistics management.
Candidate should be a team player, have good communication skills (verbal and written), exercise a high degree of self-discipline, confidentiality, and demonstrative initiative.
