Job summary
A financial services firm in Durban is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with Group reporting timelines. The ideal candidate should have a completed Com Accounting qualification and at least 4-6 years of experience in a similar role, particularly within insurance or financial services. Proficiency in IFRS, VAT, and Income Tax is necessary, alongside strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently. Qualifications
- Completed Articles Experience and Knowledge required.
- Minimum of 4 to 6 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience in Insurance or Financial services is key.
- Thorough understanding of IFRS, VAT and Income Tax.
Responsibilities
- Process accounting entries and prepare monthly management accounts.
- Prepare monthly petty cash, bank and GL reconciliations.
- Prepare commentary on the financial results for Management.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and prepare required confirmations.
- Support the implementation of internal controls and report discrepancies.
- Assist in the implementation of the ERP system.
