We are seeking a Workshop Foreman for a permanent role based in Kempton Park, Gauteng.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified boilermaker with at least 15 years working experience in a fabrication / production environment
  • Good MS Office literacy
  • Strong track record of managing successful production teams
  • Training / development / coaching experience as well as production management

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Production planning – problem solving; ensure workshop is at full capacity; ensure resources are fully utilized; meeting of delivery commitments; daily workshop walkthrough; daily operations huddle; reduce average project turnaround time
  • Production & efficiency – ensure on time project delivery; increase production output; enhance equipment utilization and uptime
  • Labour budgets – strict control of labour budgets; planning of overtime
  • Workshop opening and closing – nightshift handover and ensure workshop is locked
  • SHE Management – achievement of annual safety targets; adhere to SHE system including training, maintenance, system compliance and checklists; learning and improvements; weekly toolbox talk training; ensure SOPs are up to date
  • Drive and implement document control
  • Continuous improvement – investigate production problems; implement lasting solutions
  • Quality assurance – ensure production team is working to QMS; enforce proper handling of materials; ensure fabrication aligns with applicable standards; schedule inspections; manage workshop errors; implementation of improvements
  • Lead and proactively participate in meetings
  • Staff management – review CVs; onboarding procedures; tracking late arrivals; leave management as well as absenteeism and desertion; disciplinary action; prepare evidence for disciplinary hearings; recognize team members for accomplishments
  • Staff development / training / coaching – production team meetings; annual performance reviews; talent assessment

Salary: R35000 – R40000 per month (CTC)
