Full-time | 6:30am–3:00pm | Timber Machining, Door & Frame Fabrication

Pine Construction & Interiors is seeking an experienced Workshop Carpenter / Joiner – Lead Hand to support and run the day‑to‑day operations of our small timber workshop. This is a hands‑on role for a tradesperson who enjoys fabrication, machining, and keeping a workshop organised and running smoothly.

You’ll be building doors, frames, custom timber components and small joinery items that support both our Commercial and SAHA Maintenance teams.

About Us

We’re a family‑run Adelaide business with commercial carpentry, maintenance and workshop divisions. Our workshop is a practical, traditional timber setup, not a factory, and plays a key role in producing doors, frames, timber components and small joinery pieces needed across the business.

This position suits someone reliable, steady and skilled with workshop machinery who takes pride in doing things properly.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on trades role with lead responsibilities. Your day will include:

Timber Fabrication & Joinery
  • Machining timber for various applications
  • Building solid core and hollow core doors
  • Fabricating timber door frames and timber window frames
  • Producing custom timber and joinery components
  • Repairing and building cabinets for SAHA properties
  • Supporting Commercial and Maintenance teams with made‑to‑measure pieces
Machinery You’ll Use
  • Panel saw
  • Spindle moulder
  • Mortise machine
  • Thicknesser
  • Drop saw
  • Drill press
  • All standard carpentry and joinery tools
Lead Hand Responsibilities
  • Keeping the workshop clean, safe and organised
  • Managing tools, machinery, consumables and stock
  • Coordinating workflow with supervisors
  • Forklift operation (licence required or willingness to obtain)
  • Occasional onsite support for measurements or small installs
Digital Systems
  • Using Hilti OnTrack for tool and asset management (training provided)
Bonus Skills (Not Essential)
  • Experience with aluminium partition frames and doors
  • Cabinetmaking or light joinery finishing experience
What We’re Looking For
  • Certificate III in Carpentry or Joinery
  • Strong workshop or joinery fabrication experience
  • Confident using standard woodworking machinery safely
  • Able to manufacture doors, frames, window frames and custom items
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Organised, steady and able to take the lead in a small workshop
  • Good communication and ability to support multiple teams
  • Pride in accurate, high‑quality workmanship
  • Comfortable learning digital systems (OnTrack)
