Job summary

A civil engineering firm in Pretoria, Gauteng is looking for a Civil Engineer/Technologist. The role involves the design of water infrastructure projects, managing contracts and liaising with stakeholders. Ideal candidates should have at least 8 years of experience, a relevant engineering degree, and proficiency in Auto CAD Civil 3D. Introduction

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design of water infrastructure including pipelines, pump stations, boreholes, water/wastewater treatment works, reservoirs, control valves, etc.
• Assist with reports for all stages of project implementation including inception, feasibility, concept & viability, design development, tender & procurement, etc.
• Contract administration and project management including interaction with clients, contractors & other stakeholders and attendance of progress meetings, etc.
• Preparation of tender documentation including specification writing, bill of quantities and drawings.

Qualifications

• BTech / BSc / B Eng. Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA as PR Tech or PR Eng will be an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years practical experience in the design of water infrastructure, contract administration, quality monitoring, report writing, tender documentation, etc.
• Knowledge of GCC, JBCC and NEC Contracts advantageous.
• Experience in compiling reports.
• Experience in liaising with clients, contractors, other disciplines and various other project stakeholders.
• Proficient in Civil Designer, Auto CAD Civil 3D essential.
• Knowledge of i DAS & Wadiso / Epanet recommended.
• Experience in Revit & Surge design software beneficial.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English; Proficiency in English.
• Medically fit and willing to work on construction sites.
• Minimum Code B driver's license.
