Job summary

An engineering company in South Africa seeks a mechanical engineer to design and develop tooling, conduct reverse engineering, and manage tooling projects. Candidates should excel in CAD software like CATIA or SolidWorks and have experience in manufacturing processes. Qualifications

  • 2/3 years Higher Education Diploma – Mechanical Engineering Technician (Advantageous).
  • 4/5 years Higher Education Diploma – BEng / BTech in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tooling, jigs, fixtures.
  • Conduct criticality assessment for jigs & fixtures.
  • Perform reverse engineering of existing tooling.
  • Produce high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5/V6 and/or SolidWorks.
  • Conduct tolerance analyses.
  • Support tooling fabrication and validation.
  • Perform tooling functional trials.
  • Manage tooling projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
