We are searching for a Technical and Innovation Specialist, responsible for driving technical excellence, promoting innovation and delivering solutions that improve product quality, production efficiency and sustainability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Innovation and Research
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes and products.
- Research emerging technologies, tools and trends within the manufacturing sector.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to prototype, test and refine new concepts.
Process Optimization
- Analyse existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, quality and sustainability.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles and advanced process control methods.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
Technical Support
- Provide expert technical guidance to resolve complex manufacturing challenges.
- Optimise production processes to reduce waste, improve quality and enhance throughput.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and technical best practices.
Product Development
- Work with engineering, operations and quality teams to address technical issues and improve product performance.
- Use customer feedback and market insights to guide product improvements and innovation.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Project Management
- Manage technical and innovation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare clear reports on project status, findings and recommendations.
Training and Knowledge Sharing
- Train staff on new technologies, methods and technical tools.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the organisation.
- Document and share lessons learned, best practices and technical insights.

Qualifications and Experience
- Matric/N3.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a technical or innovation-focused role.
- Demonstrated ability to lead innovation projects and implement new technologies.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, automation, and emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCad, CAM, or other relevant technical software.
