A global consulting firm seeks a Technical Advisor to assist the National Department of Health in implementing its Digital Health Strategy in South Africa. Palladium seeks a Technical Advisor : National Digital Health Implementation Strategist to provide technical assistance to the National Department of Health (NDoH) in the implementation of its Digital Health Strategy.
This role will be seconded to the National Department of Health Digital Health Unit (NDOH DHU), focusing on activities related to the National Digital Health Strategy for.
The Advisor will ensure implementation alignment with national and international legislation, integrate best practices, and foster stakeholder collaboration through engagements on implementation.
Support NDOH in developing national and provincial level implementation plans in meeting the goals of the National Digital Health Strategy.
Ensure all implementation plans follow best practice with regards to M&E, such as SMART objectives where agreed.
Advise NDOH on incorporating global best practices into implementation strategy design and development.
Research and present on implementing global digital health initiatives and technology trends in a clear, accessible format.
Support any required or requested capacity-building activities aligned with implementation of the Strategy.
Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience with strategic public healthcare information systems in South Africa or similar regional contexts.
Demonstrated experience with M&E planning and implementation in public health environments.
In-depth knowledge of South African digital health and health information initiatives (e.g., NHI).
A broad knowledge of South African health legislation is a plus.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated experience engaging with South African Department of Health officials and partner organizations.
