Job description

NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EU funded project called: Energy access and resilience initiative for Northern Uganda and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project.

The overall objective of this assignment is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all in Northern Uganda, with a focus on vulnerable groups, productive use of energy and rural communities, in line with the Uganda's Vision 2040 and the NationalElectrification Strategy.

Location: Gulu, with fieldwork in key districts across Northern Uganda.

Duration: The indicative start date is 15 October 2025 and the period of implementation of the specific contract will be 365 days from this date. Indicative end date: 14 October 2026.

Team Leader / Project Manager

️ Qualifications and skills:

  • University Degree of at least 3 years in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • A Master Degree in a relevant engineering discipline would be preferable.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.

️ General professional experience:

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the electricity sector, including at least 5 years (i.e., 60 full-time equivalent months) in rural electrification.

️ Specific professional experience:

  • At least 2 references as team leader or deputy team leader of services (co-)financed by the European Union, the European Investment Bank or other similar donors or development banks.
  • At least 2 successful experiences in a technical position (i.e., not a management/team leader position) for services of similar nature, size and complexity.
