Job Description
The purpose of the role will be to ensure tax compliance and accurate tax accounting for multinational group entities, with support of in-country consultants.

Responsibilities
Tax accounting & compliance (accountable)
- Responsible for tax administration & calculation
- CIT Calc
- CIT Return
- Deferred Tax
- Prov Tax
- Dividends Tax
- Provide oversight/ review of Central Finance's tax administration and working papers (e.g. inspection returns, review reconciliations, etc.)
- VAT
- WHT
- Payroll
- Design and build standard templates for Central Finance to populate on tax related items
- Accountable for responses to tax authorities and tax audits
- Perform and review Income Tax accruals and review Income tax liabilities for completeness and accuracy
Tax Compliance – Quality Control
- Accountable for obtaining Tax Clearance certificates (quarterly basis)
- Tax health check (SOA & letters) – Quarterly basis
- Ensure compliance are up to date (monthly)
- Develop and manage remediation plans for outstanding tax deliverables and discrepancies (Return corrections, Audit, Queries, etc.)
Group tax reporting
- Maintain group tracking schedules
- Prepare status reports for management and shareholders
- Status reporting, maintain open item statuses accurately in Jira on a daily basis
General
- Obtaining opinions/advice from tax advisors and presenting potential outcomes and actions to management
- Keep abreast of tax regulatory developments in all relevant countries
- Consult on tax impact of proposed changes
- Ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
- 5 years post articles experience in tax, in a Multinational Group, or accounting and tax practice
- SAIT, SAIPA, ACCA, SAIBA, AGA(SA), CA (SA), or equivalent
- Completed articles, preferably in tax practice
- BComm
- Postgraduate in tax
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Numerical skills
