Job summary

A leading mining company based in Gauteng is seeking a Superintendent for Domestic and Sexual Offences Investigations. The role involves responding to and investigating cases of family violence and child protection, as well as managing a victim support program. Candidates should have a National Diploma in Forensic Welfare or Policing along with 5-10 years of investigative experience. Applicants must possess or be able to obtain necessary firearms competence certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years experience investigating criminal cases.
  • Grade A registration with PSIRA or ability to obtain it.
  • Competency in handling firearms as per legislation.

Responsibilities

A large Mining Company based in the Gauteng Province, has a challenging opportunity for a Superintendent Domestic and Sexual Offences Investigations. To respond and investigate reported cases of family violence, child protection and sexual offences to ensure the safety and security of victims and their family members. Assist in the designing and initiating of processes and procedures to manage a victim support programme within the Victim Support Centre. Coordinate the effective functioning of the Victim Support Centre.

Qualifications
  • National Diploma in Forensic Welfare or National Diploma Policing
  • Grade A registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) or the ability to obtain one
  • 5 - 10 years experience in the investigation of criminal cases related to family violence, sexual offence, and child abuse
  • Learner Achievement Certificate relevant to all three firearms (Basic Firearm; Business Purpose; Regulation 21)
  • Firearm Competency Certificate issued by the SAPS as per the new Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000.
