Overview
The incumbent will act as custodian of Omnia's strategy portfolio, including looking after strategic planning and execution, market insights aligned to the company's long‑term direction and competitive positioning, and evaluating the company performance against set strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Honours degree in a relevant business or commerce related field is essential
- Master's degree in a relevant business or commerce related field is advantageous
- Solid experience working and reporting to Boards and Committees
- At least 3 years of working experience in a corporate strategy position within a fast‑paced and dynamic business environment
- At least 5 years' experience at management level
- Proven track record on interacting with executives in a highly sensitive and collaborative environment to agree the Group's strategic direction
- Proven ability to clearly convey information and instructions, which will determine the effectiveness with which strategies are executed across the Group
- Experience of building appropriate and effective networks, locally and Group‑wide
- Experience in delivering well‑written reports for business's leadership
- Extensive experience in the development and implementation of policy
Duties
- Lead the Group's annual strategy planning rhythm, including by ensuring Exco alignment ahead of Board
- Develop consistently applied implementation methodologies for use across business
- Contribute to QBR planning, including content, format and external thought leadership
- Implement tools and frameworks to enhance oversight of cross‑functional organisation‑wide strategic projects and initiatives, and supporting otherwise
- Includes system and processes for evaluation and monitoring
- Create and update dashboards for reviewing select strategic initiatives and key performance indicators – enhance benefits tracking of projects and capital allocated
- Provide strategy support to business units and Omnia Executives
- Lead transformative strategy formulation, and participate in operational / business unit strategy ideation
- Initiate and/or coordinate research and preparation of special reports and presentations that drive our strategy priorities
- Support Group executives in developing internal and external strategy communication
- Includes high level contribution towards Investor Relations initiatives and preparation for engagements
- Market analysis and research insights
- Monitoring macroeconomic and industry trends, including developing frameworks for business to do so more efficiently
- Assist in identifying / flagging growth opportunities, market shifts and potential threats
- Researching, benchmarking, analysing data and making recommendations based on internal and external environment
- Attend relevant industry conferences, workshops and networking events
- Other project management, reporting and communication
- Ensure disciplined project management of all workstreams including meeting planning, preparation, monitoring and execution
- Ensure quality and alignment of strategy communication flowing to Omnia board and external stakeholders
- Contribution of Strategy and Capital Allocation content in CEO Report and others as required
