Our client in George is hiring a Store Operations Manager. An established hardware and building materials retailer is seeking an experienced and execution-focused Store Operations Manager to take full ownership of store performance, profitability, and operational excellence.

Job Description

The Store Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of store operations, driving profitability, implementing effective loss prevention controls, and leading a high-performing team to achieve operational and financial targets.

Responsibilities
  • Full accountability for daily store operations and overall profitability
  • Lead, manage, coach, and discipline staff to ensure performance standards are met
  • Implement and maintain loss prevention controls and shrinkage reduction strategies
  • Maintain high standards of store presentation, merchandising, and stock levels
  • Oversee inventory management, deliveries, and operational KPIs
  • Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions where required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years’ retail management experience, preferably within hardware or building materials
  • Proven loss prevention experience with measurable results (experience examples required)
  • Strong product knowledge of hardware, tools, paints, and building supplies
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading diverse teams
  • Strong operational and execution skills with a hands-on management approach
  • Proficiency in POS systems and inventory management systems
  • Ability to work with metrics and operational reporting
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Clear criminal record
