Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) required; additional qualifications in logistics, inventory management, or finance are advantageous.
  • 3+ years experience in a stock control or inventory position within a FMCG, manufacturing, or food production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Exposure to accounts and inventory reconciliation processes is essential.
  • Experience working on ERP systems or stock control software (e.g., Syspro, SAP, Pastel Evolution).
  • Basic understanding of costing, variance analysis, and inventory ledger entries.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, or other food safety systems.
  • Forklift license or ability to operate stock-handling equipment (beneficial).
  • Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
Duties
  • Monitor and control raw material and finished goods inventory across production, warehouse, and dispatch.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts; investigate and reconcile stock variances.
  • Track incoming and outgoing stock using ERP / stock systems and manual logs.
  • Perform stock reconciliations between physical stock, system records, and accounts data.
  • Liaise with the finance / accounts department to align inventory reports with general ledger.
  • Prepare daily and monthly stock reports using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
  • Ensure FIFO / FEFO practices are applied in line with food safety and shelf-life standards.
  • Identify and elevate stock discrepancies, damages, shrinkage, or losses.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, production, and dispatch teams to ensure stock availability and accuracy.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and well-labeled storage areas in compliance with GMP.
  • Support external and internal audits by providing accurate inventory documentation.
