Job Title: Senior Manager of Account Development - Clinical Logistics

Grade: RCS I

Location: We are open to candidates based in UKI, Brazil and EMEA (including Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Turkey)

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as the Senior Manager of Account Development - Clinical Logistics within DHL Supply Chain!

This role will oversee the commercial and contractual development of customer accounts while implementing account management strategies to expand and sustain our customer base. With a particular focus on retaining business, achieving net growth, revenue, profitability and service targets for key accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide input to developing key account strategy, including account planning, revenue targets, and service goals
  • Plan, oversee, and deliver sales objectives for strategic accounts across a region or globally
  • Lead and control all sales activities and initiatives, including contract negotiations for assigned key accounts
  • Build relationships with existing and potential customers, associated networks, and support functions
  • Identify decision-makers, negotiate customer contracts, promote brand awareness, and resolve issues
  • Ensure key account retention, business growth, and profitability
  • Direct and supervise a team to achieve goals by assigning work, timelines, reviewing output, and managing performance
  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and coach team members
  • Develop strong management capability through effective performance management, mentoring, and development of the team
  • Communicate and influence senior business leaders outside of own job area
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DHL
  • Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties, e.g., external service providers
What are we looking for?

We are seeking candidates with proven experience in logistics, particularly within the Life Sciences and Healthcare (LSH) sector and a strong track record in account management. Ideal applicants will have demonstrated expertise in complex negotiations, contract renewals, and managing LSH accounts, including contractual negotiations. A solid understanding of customer trends and needs within LSH and Clinical Trials Logistics (CTL) is essential, complemented by a robust knowledge of sales and customer management.

Candidates should also possess a strong background in managing sales CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, overseeing all aspects of account growth and new business from business case to contract signature. Additionally, prior stakeholder management experience on a global scale is crucial, as is the ability to effectively manage remote teams across different time zones and regions.
