Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a proficient level of expertise in the detail design practices of SEL automation systems.
  • Develop and maintain a proficient level of knowledge of SEL equipment and solutions to electric power system automation applications.
  • Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget to a high level of quality.
  • Train and assist customers with the installation, commissioning, and operation of automation systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
  • Work in a safe, healthful and environmentally sound manner, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly, and perform ergonomic exercises to reduce likelihood of injuries.
  • Provide support for other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering, and development activities.
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Associate's degree in electronic technology or equivalent experience / military school training.

  • 4 plus years of experience with electrical power systems or industrial automation system practices.
  • Good knowledge of system protection, integration, and automation applications.
  • Working knowledge of electric power systems and protective relay applications.
  • Excellent technical training.
  • Ability to work independently, accepting ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and / or generation systems.
  • Experience being a part of project teams.
