A leading global supplier in mining solutions is seeking an experienced professional for a robust sourcing role in Kempton Park, South Africa. The position requires solid experience in global sourcing, supplier selection, and performance management along with advanced project management skills. The purpose of платьй for the role is to provide robust and permanent service delivery to the Divisions and Sales Area to ensure effective, efficient, compliant and sustainable management of the Sourcing and whistles of the Sourcing and Supply Chain function in Southern Africa or, should the need arise, other parts of the globe where the Divisions operate.
Responsible for Sourcing for all Indirect Procurement Categories, Production Unit Requirements, Workshop Centre Requirements and Sales Area procurement support for Southern Africa.
Ensure that Indirect and Direct spend in the assigned Sourcing Region with external suppliers within scope of responsibility adds best possible value to Sandvik Mining business.
Support delivery of Southern Africa Sales Area goals and objectives aligned to Sourcing KPIs.
Manage the procurement of both indirect and direct components and services, ensuring alignment with Sandvik’s global and regional sourcing strategies.
Act as a key member of the Regional Sourcing team, collaborating with all Regional functions and divisional stakeholders to drive sourcing projects, business needs and opportunities.
Participate as a decentralized Member of Sandvik Mining’s Procurement Network.
Lead and Manage Regional Indirect Procurement Team (direct reports).
Develop and implement ESG strategies in sourcing, ensuring supplier compliance with Sandvik’s sustainability standards and local legislation (e.g., BBBEE, environmental and social responsibility).
Lead supplier development and risk management processes, including regular audits and compliance checks (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, SA 8000).
Drive transformation initiatives, including Preferential Procurement and Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD), to maximize BBBEE scorecard results and promote local supplier development.
Ensure continuous improvement in sourcing is sustained to use the best available suppliers in the region and build multiple sources in alignment with Responsible Sourcing guidelines.
Evaluation, qualification, selection, contracts and management of Regional suppliers in accordance with the Sandvik Supplier Code of Conduct.
Sourcing participation in engineering, new product development and localization projects in the region.
Efficient use of common sourcing BA processes and tools in developing Sourcing Capabilities.
Ensuring Sourcing organisation adheres to Sandvik policies and guidelines.
Reporting of sourcing Region KPI´s, activities and results.
Managing regional sourcing organisation should the need arise.
Ensure Sourcing Organisation has sufficient and competent sourcing resources where needed.
Resource allocations and prioritisation of projects and actions when needed.
Developarnikkut (typo‑free only internal) internal sourcing team technical skills by means of effective performance agreements, reviews & appraisals, develop succession plans and implementation of training and development plans.
Completed relevant National Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degreeenuous in Logistics, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management.
Solid experience (7‑10 years) with management experience in global sourcing, supplier selection and supplier approval, as well as supply chain management at highest level (Global OEM exposure advantageous).
Strong Experience in Global ERP (SAP S4/Hana), Supplier Relationship Management Tools (e.g. Ariba); Business Intelligence and Reporting.
CIPS / SAPICS accreditation (advantageous).
Solid experience in sustainable supplier management, supplier evaluation and supplier performance management (experience in ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and SA 8000).
Experience and deep knowledge of sourcing/supply chain procedures'.
Knowledge of local legislation pertaining to BBBEE and deep understanding of Preferential Procurement.
Advanced Project Management skills.
High integrity.
Fluent verbal and written language skills in English.
Notice period on all positions is 20 working days from date of resignation, unless otherwise agreed to by managers.
