Salary: NLC12 £48,958-£54,418

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Hybrid

We are looking for a confident and positive individual to support the work of Legal Services by providing professional legal advice and support as required across the range of work carried out by the Service on behalf of the Council.

You must be a fully qualified solicitor and hold a Diploma in Legal Practice or equivalent, as well as a current unrestricted Practising Certificate from the Law Society of Scotland. You will have recent experience of sheriff court work and be able to demonstrate well developed advocacy and negotiation skills. You will have a good understanding of, and ideally experience of, in-house local authority litigation work, including work in the key areas of education, social work, and housing.

With the ability to adapt to change, work to deadlines and manage a large, diverse caseload, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
