Job description

We are seeking a Solar (PV) Compliance Site Manager for a fixed-term contract role based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/BTech or a similar qualification with a Qualification in OHS
• Minimum 5 years' experience in compliance, construction, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of solar PV systems and construction methods
• Experience managing EPC contractors and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Strong knowledge of South African laws and regulations relevant to the renewable energy sector
• Auditing proficiency & OSHA 10 or 30 certification required
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound ethical judgments
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel within South Africa

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Compliance Oversight: Ensure EPC contractor activities comply with laws, regulations, and standards, including Eskom's grid connection, Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality bylaws, SANRAL requirements, Department of Labour health and safety regulations, and other authorities.
• Contract Management: Monitor and enforce compliance with contract terms and applicable laws.
• Site Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance and identify non-conformances.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain records and submit reports to authorities, African Pioneer Energy, and stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with authorities, stakeholders, and EPC contractors to ensure compliance and resolve issues.
• Health and Safety: Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Salary: R800,000 per annum maximum CTC for the ideally matched candidate.
