Our client, a leading operator within the iGaming and Sports Betting sector, is looking for a Social Media Specialist to shape brand voice, grow highly engaged online communities and drive acquisition and retention through creative, data-informed storytelling.

This role sits at the centre of brand, performance and community. Its not about posting for the sake of posting — its about building relevance, trust and engagement in a fast-moving, highly regulated industry.

The Role

Youll own the end-to-end social media presence across all major platforms, translating campaigns, promotions and live sporting moments into compelling, on-brand content.

Your responsibilities will include:

Creating and executing platform-specific content across Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, Snapchat and Pinterest

Conceptualising, producing or briefing multimedia content including video, static and motion assets

Writing clear, engaging and conversion-aware copy for social posts, blogs, newsletters, landing pages, banners and push notifications

Managing daily posting schedules, community engagement and moderation

Responding to comments, queries and direct messages in a timely, professional manner

Escalating relevant customer queries to Customer Support when required

Developing and managing competitions, giveaways and social activations

Building and maintaining relationships with influencers and local sports communities

Capturing live content at events or coordinating ad-hoc content shoots

Creating and managing monthly content calendars aligned to betting promotions, launches and sporting calendars

Collaborating closely with designers, paid media teams and brand managers on integrated campaigns

Ensuring all content aligns with brand tone, visual identity and compliance requirements

Monitoring competitors, industry activity and platform trends to keep content fresh and relevant

Testing new formats, features and emerging platforms to optimise reach and engagement

Tracking performance and contributing to insights, reporting and optimisation

What Youll Bring

This role is suited to someone who understands both sports culture and digital performance, and can balance creativity with commercial objectives.

Youll need:

  • A Bachelors degree (NQF Level 7) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field
  • 2–4 years experience in a dedicated social media or digital marketing role
  • Previous experience within iGaming, Sports Betting, entertainment or a closely related industry
  • A strong copywriting portfolio showcasing digital-first content and storytelling
  • Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite, X, Google Analytics, TikTok Ads Manager and social scheduling/reporting tools
  • Understanding of paid social formats and campaign planning

Strong storytelling, copywriting and editorial judgment

A sharp eye for design, detail and platform-specific aesthetics

Solid understanding of social media trends, particularly within sports, gaming and betting communities
