A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. This role involves executing all quantity surveying functions independently, including cost estimation and contract administration, and managing project budgets. The ideal candidate will have a BSc or B-Tech degree in Quantity Surveying, SACQSP registration, and a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the built environment. About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (Pr. QS) to join our client's dynamic team. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in the built environment (Building projects such as commercial, residential and Office blocks) and the ability to manage all QS functions independently. Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all Quantity Surveying functions independently, including cost estimation, tender documentation, and contract administration.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and ensure financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and Analyze bills of quantities and other cost-related documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Utilize QS Plus International (UAE) and Cost X software for project management and cost control.
  • Support principal agency and project management functions as required.
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • BSc. Hons or B-Tech degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution.
Professional Registration
  • SACQSP registration as a Professionally Registered Quantity Surveyor (PR. QS).
  • RICS Candidate status (advantageous).
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within the built environment.
  • At least 5 years’ post-Pr. QS registration experience.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong commercial experience (essential).
  • Proficiency in QS Plus International (UAE); experience in Dimension X & Cost X is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills and general computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Other Requirements

Principal agency/project management experience is an advantage
