Qualifications

About the Role

Our client a leading player in the renewable energy sector is looking for a Senior Projects Manager with a strong technical background and proven experience in electrical reticulation including Medium Voltage (MV) High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems Eskom connections and distribution & transmission line projects .

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects from planning through to grid connection ensuring compliance with Eskom NERSA and other relevant authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end management of renewable energy projects (Solar Wind Hybrid) with a focus on grid integration and reticulation infrastructure
• Manage MV HV and LV electrical design construction and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with Eskom municipal and other utility provider standards
• Liaise with Eskom for grid code compliance permitting and power purchase agreements (PPA)
• Lead project teams and contractors ensuring delivery within scope budget and schedule
• Develop project timelines track milestones and manage risks proactively
• Coordinate with engineering procurement environmental and legal teams
• Provide regular progress reports to senior stakeholders
• Ensure SHEQ (Safety Health Environmental & Quality) standards are maintained on-site

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering Project Management or related field
• Minimum 8 10 years project management experience in electrical infrastructure or renewable energy projects
• Proven experience working with MV HV lines Eskom connections substations transformers and reticulation systems
• Knowledge of NERSA Grid Code SSEG and municipal technical requirements
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification would be an advantage
• Exceptional leadership negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel to remote project locations across South Africa
