A leading diagnostics company in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to manage the entire procurement lifecycle. JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly experienced and decisive Senior Procurement Officer to take full ownership of our procurement lifecycle. This is a critical leadership role where you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless, cost-effective, and timely acquisition of goods and services essential to our operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing end-to-end procurement in a fast-paced environment, with specific expertise in Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory, operational planning, effective communication skills, recording and reporting on processed data, seamless and timeous movement of goods to various geographical locations and solid software systems experience. You shall demonstrate exemplary skills to make key purchasing decisions, negotiate major contracts, and optimize our supply chain for maximum efficiency and resilience.
1. Responsibilities
Implement systems from stock ordering to distribution and receipt
Negotiation with suppliers on lead-time and pricing
General supervision of store's function
Maintaining and updating inventory stock records
Monitoring inventory levels and usage
Co-ordinating regular inventory stock counts
Reporting on variances in stock levels
Generating PO's for approval
Receipting and dispatching of stock maintaining processes, documentation
Updating inventory systems
Track and follow-up on the quantity of remaining supplies, backorders, etc and receive
notifications when stock is running low
Track expiration dates on materials
Make informed purchasing decisions that prevent unnecessary stockpiling and save money
Training new staff
Implementing measures to avoid stock damages, wastage and theft
