Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with prior experience working in a law firm to join their dynamic team immediately. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations involving Nedbank, FNB, and ABSA accounts. Standard bookkeeping functions will apply.

Bookkeeping Duties
  • Manage Business and Trust accounts
  • Process Trust-to-Business transfers
  • Handle EFT payments
  • Post all receipts, payments, bank fees, and LPFF transactions
  • Prepare Business and Trust journals
  • Manage investments
  • Reconcile monthly Section 86(2) and 86(4) Trust accounts
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports
  • Assist with budgeting, costing, and strategic financial planning
  • Handle all SARS submissions and payments
  • Liaise with banks, clients, and creditors
  • Manage the sheriff, correspondent, advocate, and advertising accounts
  • Oversee petty cash
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Facilitate annual audits and handle FFC and Letter of Good Standing applications
  • Assist with marketing activities and event coordination
  • Chairman of the Social Club Committee
Payroll Duties
  • Leave maintenance
  • Exporting payroll data onto banking systems for the monthly pay run
  • Issuing payslips
  • Assisting with recruitment and contracts
  • Statutory payroll submissions
  • Facilitating annual labour audits
Qualifications

Relevant Accounting/Finance qualifications.

Skills

The successful candidate must have:
