Main Purpose of the Job

To lead economic evaluation research and to lecture in the Masters in Public Health (MPH) Programme and supervise students (Masters and Ph D candidates)

Location

Wits School of Public Health, Parktown, Johannesburg

Key Performance Areas
  • Identify novel research methods and ideas
  • Attract research funding by identifying and applying for research grants in line with PRICELESS research strategy
  • Publish research in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, reports, and present findings to stakeholders, the PRICELESS team, and other groups
  • Manage research projects from inception to completion
  • Manage and mentor junior researchers
Required Minimum Education and Training

Ph D in Health Economics

Must have published on Economic Evaluations in Academic Journals

Required Minimum Work Experience

4 years working experience in a Health Economics Research environment

Experience in conducting economic evaluations

Desirable Additional Education, Work Experience and Personal Abilities
  • Experience in analytical decision modelling
  • Published economic evaluation articles in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Good conceptualisation skills
  • Experience in teaching and student supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptive with a positive approach to taking on several duties
