Senior Employee Engagement Survey Consultant (Project‑Based / Contract)

Location: Remote / Hybrid (South Africa)

Project Context

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant to support the design, implementation, and advisory oversight of online employee engagement surveys for a strategic organisational engagement project. The role is consultative, requiring deep expertise in survey methodology, digital platforms, stakeholder engagement, data interpretation, and executive‑level reporting.

Role Purpose

To provide end‑to‑end consultative services relating to the design, deployment, management, and interpretation of online employee engagement surveys, ensuring methodological rigor, stakeholder alignment, and actionable insights aligned to organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Survey Design & Methodology – Lead the design and structuring of online employee engagement surveys, including question frameworks, rating scales, and engagement indices; ensure alignment to best‑practice models and organisational strategy; customise instruments for diverse contexts.
  • Digital Implementation – Oversee survey implementation on digital platforms; ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and ethical administration; manage rollout, communications, reminders, and completion tracking.
  • Consultative & Advisory Services – Provide expert advisory support to senior stakeholders on engagement strategy and survey outcomes; facilitate stakeholder workshops and briefing sessions pre‑ and post‑survey; translate data into actionable organisational insights.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting – Develop executive‑level reports, dashboards, and presentations; support interpretation of results and formulation of improvement initiatives.
  • Governance & Quality Assurance – Ensure compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and ethical standards; apply quality assurance processes across the survey lifecycle.
Minimum Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)
  • Minimum of eight years' proven experience in consultative services for design, implementation, and reporting of online employee engagement surveys.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant qualification in Organisational/Industrial Psychology, Behavioural Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • Experience delivering surveys for large, complex, or multi‑site organisations.
  • Experience presenting insights to executive and senior management teams.
  • Familiarity with engagement frameworks.
Contract Type

Project‑based / Fixed‑term contract – duration aligned to project milestones.
