Senior Business Analyst – Mining Value Chain

Contract

Our client in the global professional services industry is looking for a Business Analyst to evaluate business processes, understand business problems or opportunities to identify and capture relevant business (e.g., functional and non-functional) requirements, and document As-Is and To-Be process models.

The role will drive business improvement across the mining value chain by evaluating and optimizing end-to-end processes through comprehensive analysis to support strategic transformation.

It will act as a key liaison between stakeholders, technical teams, and end users, leading requirement reviews, facilitating workshops, developing test cases, and conducting user acceptance testing to ensure solutions align with the end-to-end mining value chain for business needs.

The position will deliver timely, relevant updates to decision-makers through structured reporting frameworks, enabling informed and agile decision-making.

What you will do :

• Design and implement effective solutions and facilitate continuous review and refinement of business requirements to align with evolving operational needs.
• Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices in business analysis within the mining sector.
• Lead stakeholder engagements through structured meetings and presentations to communicate insights and proposed strategies.
• Conduct thorough requirements analysis, document findings, and clearly articulate recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Extract key insights from stakeholder discussions and translate them into actionable reports.
• Collaborate closely with clients, technical experts, and management to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
• Validate that proposed solutions effectively address business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Strategically prioritize initiatives based on impact and relevance to business goals.
• Act as a bridge between users and stakeholders to facilitate clear communication and mutual understanding.
• Track project milestones and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.

Industry Expertise

• Comprehensive knowledge of the mining value chain, from extraction at the pit through to final product delivery at the port.
• Proficient in mining recovery processes, reconciliation practices, and production accounting standards related to mineral beneficiation.
• Skilled in applying short interval control methodologies to support agile decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and drive profitability.

Qualifications

• BSc., BEng., or BTech in a Technical (STEM) field or equivalent experience (BTS) with mining experience.
• More than 5 years of relevant experience at a mid-level.
• Understanding of mining end-to-end value chain processes, systems, and tools.
• Requirements analysis, documentation, and report creation.
• Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Critical and conceptual thinking.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Proven management experience leading successful projects and teams.
• Ability to work independently and act as a self-starter.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
