BMI is currently seeking a Senior Infrastructure Industry Analyst based out of our Pretoria office.

About The Team
BMI’s Infrastructure Industry Research service provides our clients with in-depth, market-level and thematic insights and analysis on the infrastructure sector and construction industry, with coverage extending to over 100 countries and markets globally.
How You’ll Make An Impact:
- Identify and analyse key infrastructure and construction trends and articulate the risks and opportunities facing sector stakeholders.
- Produce insightful and actionable analysis and contribute to regional and market-specific reports on the infrastructure sector.
- Forecast key construction and infrastructure indicators to provide our clients with quantitative insights into future growth trends.
- Interact directly with clients, including participating in both virtual and in-person meetings to present and discuss BMI views and outlooks.
- Provide support to peers, including reviewing work and providing training for more junior analysts.
- Support team leaders in the development of new research initiatives evolving with the industry.
You May Be A Good Fit If:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, public policy, international relations, transportation, energy, or related field.
- At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience related to the infrastructure and construction sectors, industry research and analysis or adjacent fields.
- Strong communication and writing skills as well as familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrable ability to solve problems using critical, rational and creative thinking.
- Willingness and ability to work independently, managing multiple tasks and meeting periodic deadlines.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Three or more years of experience (academic or professional) in analysis and research related to infrastructure, construction or related fields such as transportation, energy, or real estate.
- Strong understanding of key concepts related to infrastructure project development and construction, such as the infrastructure project lifecycle, infrastructure decarbonisation, multilateral infrastructure finance, project delivery methods, and public private partnerships (P3s).
- Client-facing experience.
- Familiarity with econometrics and economic modelling, and knowledge of Python, R or Stata.
