Job description

Our client in the Manufacturing sector is looking to employ a Senior Accountant to join their team, based at their Head Office in Tzaneen, Limpopo.

This is a permanent position within the Shared Services Finance department.

Requirements
  • BCom Accounting degree with completed Articles.
  • 5–10 years’ relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices and statutory compliance.
  • Experience with ERP / accounting systems.
  • Computer literate (MS Excel, Word, E-Mail).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly group management accounts.
  • Compile business unit, divisional, departmental and regional management accounts.
  • Prepare monthly operational and analytical reports.
  • Consolidate the annual group budget.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns (Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, UIF, Workman’s Compensation, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and legislation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and meet all reporting deadlines.
  • Manage and monitor cash flow, including daily cash planning and control.
  • Liaise with the CFO, Finance Manager, auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor, manage and support subordinate finance staff.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

  • May be required to work overtime.
