Job description

This role is responsible for driving sales strategy, building retailer relationships, and ensuring strong brand engagement year-round. The Sales Manager will oversee forecasting, budgeting, and execution of customer engagement activities, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on key growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead strategic sales plans aligned with business and brand goals
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within retail and independent channels
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate forecasting and data integrity
  • Drive category growth through innovation and insights-led initiatives
  • Manage and report on budgets, working capital, and quarterly cash flow
  • Oversee customer reporting, including retail sales and forecast tracking
  • Conduct regular engagement with retailers and distributors
  • Contribute to new product development to grow market share
  • Lead and mentor staff through biannual performance reviews and career development plans

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in sales and/or brand management, with executive leadership exposure
  • Relevant degree in Commerce or related field
  • Strong track record in the South African retail sector; apparel or footwear experiencepreferred
  • Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of customer engagement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Skilled in data-driven decision-making and sales forecasting
  • Motivated, strategic, and confident in building and maintaining relationships
