SAICA/ACCA Trainee Accountant

A firm, located in Durbanville, Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated and ambitious SAICA or ACCA Trainee Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring accountants who wish to gain valuable, practical experience in the field of accounting, audit, and financial management while working towards obtaining their CA(SA) or ACCA qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning, execution, and finalization of audits under the supervision of senior accountants.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and/or local standards.
  • Perform tax computations and prepare submissions for both personal and corporate clients.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy in financial data and records.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets and forecasts for clients.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of internal controls.
  • Provide clients with advisory services related to accounting practices and compliance.
  • Assist with VAT and payroll submissions.
  • Perform detailed audits of systems and controls, ensuring that they align with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality client service.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Completed a recognized SAICA-accredited accounting degree (for CA(SA) path) or ACCA-approved qualification (for ACCA path).
