Job summary

A leading mining company based in Northern Cape is seeking a Risk Officer to ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act. The candidate will lead risk control initiatives to minimize legal and operational risks. The ideal applicant will possess a Grade 12 Certificate, a National Diploma in Safety Management, and have extensive experience in the mining sector, specifically as a Risk Officer or Safety Officer. Strong knowledge of relevant safety legislation is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mining industry.
• 5 - 8 years’ experience as Safety Officer/Risk Officer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all legal compliance requirements are met in line with the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Implement risk control initiatives and systems to minimise risk, litigation exposure and adverse publicity.
• Monitor compliance of all business partners working in the mine with internal policies and applicable legislation.

Overview

A well established open cast Mining Company based in Northern Cape Province has a great opportunity for a Risk Officer.
