Job description

Registered Nurse in a GP Practice Starting in January 2026

POSITION VACANT

What We Offer:
  • Flexible hours – part-time (shifts to be negotiated)

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing clinical duties displaying a high level of clinical competence
  • Explaining procedures to patients and providing support, including immunisations, wound management, chronic disease management, ECGs, and collection of pathology samples; also assisting doctors with clinical procedures
  • Maintaining clinical documentation
  • Overseeing the cold chain process, including documentation of the cold chain process
  • Monitoring infection control standards, implementing changes, and providing staff education
  • Assisting with data management, diagnostic services, networking with other providers, planning & management of patient care, and patient advocacy
  • Telephone patients with test results as directed by medical staff
  • Conducting preventative/screening procedures; assisting with patient education and community health promotion activities; coordinating patient recall and outreach programs; GP management plans and team care arrangement
  • Maintaining stocks of clinical supplies and regular stock take
  • Keeping up to date with current and new legislation to ensure business complies with all statutory and regulatory obligations, including infection control, sterilisation, hazardous materials & safe handling/disposal of medical waste, records management, OHS, and accreditation
  • Acting within the practice and nursing code of ethics & appropriate level of clinical competence at all times
The successful applicant will possess:
  • Current AHPRA registration with any current CPR certification
  • Previous general practice experience and Best Practice Software experience
  • Minimum of 1+ years of general practice nursing experience
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, reliable, and proactive approach to patient care
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
