What will you do?
- You will be responsible for driving the growth of our business by managing a team of Field and Informal Sales specialists and Agents, equipping merchants with the payment solutions needed to start, run, and grow their businesses.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Growing the merchant base within your region through sales and activation of devices.
- Conducting formal and informal field activations as required.
- Executing and presenting sales reports as needed.
- Supporting merchants from an acceptance branding perspective.
- Enhancing the visibility of the iKhokha brand in trading environments.
- Growing market share through visibility and tactical activations in collaboration with the Marketing team.
- Managing marketing collateral and swag distribution within the region.
- Providing merchant product setup training and first-line support.
- Cross-selling new products and services to merchants.
- Managing the regional team, including leave, performance, and goal setting.
- Developing and executing in-field training programs for staff.
- Assessing team members' product and sales expertise.
- Reporting on training outcomes and proposing improvements.
- Building strong relationships with key merchants.
- Driving the team to meet sales and gross profit targets.
- Analyzing market insights and proposing opportunities.
- Researching and identifying opportunities for improvement in training, sales, and relationships.
- Collecting competitor information and providing feedback.
- Managing all stores within your territory to meet KPIs.
- Adopting the company's platform to monitor and measure activity.
- Ensuring activity logging and system usage compliance.
- Providing regular performance reports.
Qualifications:
- Matric
- University degree or National Diploma in Marketing, Sales, or similar (advantageous)
Deal Breakers:
- At least 5 years of sales operations, retail, or field sales experience, including 2 years managing a distributed team.
- Proven track record in distributed team management.
- Proficient in English and other South African languages.
- Excellent networking and selling skills with a proven ability to develop and convert leads.
- Solid understanding of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CRM platforms to manage leads, deals, and workflows.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Solutions-oriented with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
- Confident communicator with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
