Overview

Regional Sales CRM Merchandiser Manager

Reports to: CEO - Head of Retail

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Our client has an opportunity for a Regional Sales CRM Merchandiser Manager to join their team of staff.

Responsible for growth, executing best-in-class merchandising, uplifting customer experience, and coaching store teams.

Responsibilities
  • Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and GP targets per store and region.
  • Build and execute store-level growth plans (range, pricing adherence, promotions, and local trade events).
  • Track and improve Average Basket Size (ATV) and conversion; reduce lost sales due to OOS.
  • Merchandising Excellence
  • Ensure planogram compliance, correct facings, display standards, and promo execution per store.
  • Drive On-Shelf Availability (OSA) and reduce OOS on the Must-Stock List (MSL).
  • Run regular merchandising audits with photo evidence, close non-conformances within SLA.
  • Multi-Store Operations Management
  • Manage a regional portfolio of 9 stores with a structured visit cadence (e.g., 12-15 store visits / week).
  • Lead weekly store performance reviews (KPIs, actions, owners, deadlines) and ensure price compliance.
  • Partner with Inventory / SCM on replenishment, stock turns, and aging / returns.
  • Direct / indirect leadership of Store Managers, Sales Associates, and Merchandisers (matrixed).
  • Set targets, run coaching ride-alongs, conduct Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) where needed, and recognise high performers.
  • Build a pipeline of merchandising champions and cross-train on company standards.
  • CRM, Reporting & Insights
  • Maintain CRM hygiene (accurate store records, activities, pipelines); build dashboards and weekly reports.
  • Translate CRM and POS data into store actions (assortment tweaks, promo resets, staff coaching).
  • Present regional performance and improvement plans to Exco weekly.
  • Customer Engagement & Community Marketing
  • Elevate in-store customer experience; run local micro-activations to drive traffic and conversion.
  • Capture customer feedback / NPS and close the loop with store teams.
  • Governance, Compliance & Risk
  • Ensure adherence to BCEA, LRA, CPA, POPIA, H&S standards, cash-up, and shrink controls.
  • Enforce SOPs (pricing, discounts, returns, stock handling, and promotional claims).
Minimum Requirements (essential)
  • Experience: 5+ years in a retail-level sales / merchandising leadership role.
  • Multi-store management: Proven responsibility for a chain / network of 6 outlets.
  • CRM: Demonstrable, hands-on CRM experience.
  • Impact: Track record of increasing store-level sales / revenue with measurable results.
  • Operational & People: Strong operations discipline, team leadership / coaching, and customer engagement.

Advantageous: FMCG / Natural Health category experience; MS Excel (lookup / pivots), POS analytics; Pastel / Sage familiarity; valid drivers licence and reliable transport; multilingual (English + local languages).
