Department: Operations / Manufacturing

Reports To: General Manager / CEO

Location: Head Office (Gauteng – Olifantsfontein Clayville)

Employment Type: Full-time Permanent

Purpose of the Role

To take full ownership and P L responsibility for the manufacturing business unit, driving operational excellence, profitability, zero‑harm safety, quality standards and strong team performance in a fast‑moving production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full operational leadership of the business unit (mechanical, electrical, technical, IR, SHEQ and training)
  • Develop and execute strategic business production plans
  • Set performance goals, monitor progress and implement corrective actions
  • Manage the full financial portfolio – budgets, cost control, profitability and capex
  • Ensure rapid and effective response to operational contingencies
  • Drive performance management at team and individual level
  • Implement and maintain a "zero harm" safety culture with full legislative compliance
  • Oversee quality management systems and processes
  • Ensure sound corporate governance and financial controls
  • Manage HR and labour relations (disciplinary, unions, EE, skills development)
  • Deliver excellent HSE results and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Personal Characteristics / Other Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 (NQF 4)
  • Relevant tertiary technical qualification (engineering, operations or production management)
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a production / manufacturing environment at management level
  • Proven track record managing a full P L in manufacturing
  • Strong financial acumen and budgeting skills
  • Solid understanding of SHEQ legislation and implementation
  • Computer literate – advanced Microsoft Office (JDE experience a strong advantage)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport
  • Emotional self‑control, trustworthiness, adaptability, initiative, service orientation, conflict management and punctuality
