Qualifications

Job Purpose

The Cargo revenue accounting role is responsible for rate audit and finalize of SAA and other airline freight flown on SAA flights or transferred to/from other airlines.

As part of the Revenue Accounting function the incumbent will be required to ensure effective and efficient processing of IATA Cargo interline billings receivable/payable to/from other airlines. The role will evaluate and monitor SPA's and analyses the effectiveness of interline exception reports.

Principal Accountabilities
Strategic/ Financial
  • Rate audit and finalize air waybills completed in the month that its flown.
  • Process revenue due to SAA
  • Identify and prevent incorrect agent billings
  • Resolve rate/weight discrepancies
  • Load SPA and ADHOC agreements concluded for different airlines in iCargo
  • Review interline exceptions after SIS billing file is loaded from IATA.
  • Process IATA inward/outward SIS
  • Generate monthly iCargo/SAP R3 interline inward/outward interface files
  • Reconciliation of interline related accounts
Operational/ Customer
  • Resolve interline disputes
  • Ensure that Special Prorate Agreements are loaded on time.
  • Recalculate (manually prorate) incorrect billing values and resolve over/under billings before SAP/IATA SIS cut off
  • Co-ordinate with system support with regards to problems with system errors and management of USVD's
  • Be able to communicate with all departments to resolve problems
  • Escalate customer issues to management where solutions could not be reached
People

  • Assist with auditors where necessary
