Job description

Our client is localizing the production of automotive press parts, contributing to the advancement of South Africa's automotive industry, fostering economic development and job creation in the region.

The purpose of this role is for the Quality Team Leader, who is responsible for ensuring that day-to-day quality activities are achieved across all aspects of the production process. The Quality Team Leader will ensure that specified quality standards and inspection frequencies of components are met.

REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant Diploma in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related fields, with ISO certification
• At least 5 years of relevant Quality Assurance & Quality Control experience at a Team Leader level in Automotive or Manufacturing
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, PolyWorks, Faro programs is advantageous
• Quality certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949
• Basic auditing skills
• Ability to use measuring tools and knowledge of quality testing requirements and instruments
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, with intermediate Excel skills
• Strong aptitude for Quality Administration and Reporting
• Working knowledge of safety procedures
• Understanding of quality control procedures/systems and relevant legal standards

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure Quality Control and Quality Assurance, with a critical understanding of QMS
• Read and interpret quality specification data, understanding company policies and internal controls
• Inspect raw materials and components
• Report quality incidents and non-conformances
• Conduct shopfloor patrols to ensure first-off checks are available
• Perform quality inspections and report findings
• Mentor, train, guide, and support team members
• Provide on-the-job training to meet quality standards
• Identify non-conforming parts/materials, label, and quarantine them
• Complete hourly and daily quality activities and report accordingly
• Follow relevant escalation procedures for quality issues
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Complete daily quality KPI reports
• Participate in 4M Changes (Man, Machine, Method, Material)
