Job summary

A leading automotive company in Pretoria is seeking an enthusiastic Industrial or Mechanical Engineering student for a role in the Bodyshop team. You will support quality improvement projects and conduct full Process Quality Risk Assessments aimed at preventing defects and enhancing build integrity. Ideal candidates are in their final year of Mechatronics Engineering with knowledge in process engineering tools and strong communication skills. This position offers hands-on experience in a global automotive environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and practical application of MS Excel.
  • Ability to present data clearly to management and shop-floor teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Bodyshop Process Risk Assessment by analyzing process risks.
  • Assist in identifying high-risk process steps relating to quality.
  • Analyze defect data and customer feedback for trends and root causes.
  • Participate in workshops with Bodyshop personnel for better process understanding.
  • Contribute to creating mitigation strategies including Poke-Yoke solutions.
  • Construct Excel-based risk matrices and analysis reports.
  • Develop a monitoring and control plan for defect reduction.
  • Prepare performance communication materials like dashboards and project documentation.
  • Support training material development for defect prevention awareness.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
