The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience in post-harvest fruit handling and a diploma in Food Science or Agriculture. Fruitways is a leading agri‑business in South Africa. We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

Quality Assurance Supervisor - Fruitways Packing Services

We are looking for 6 experienced and detail‑oriented individuals who take pride in delivering high‑quality work within a dynamic team environment. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Managers, these roles will be based at Molteno, Valley Packers and Melpack packing facilities in the Elgin and Vyeboom regions.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor quality processes and standards throughout the storage, sorting and packing processes
  • Report deviations and results to the rest of the team
  • Review fruit quality data and report relevant trends
  • Supervise and train a team of quality control personnel
Requirements
  • Diploma or similar qualification in Food Science or Agriculture is advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a post‑harvest fruit handling or fruit production environment
  • Understanding of apple and pear fruit quality
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package, including Excel skills
  • Basic understanding of Vitrax, will be beneficial
