Function Pharmacy Facility Life Fourways Hospital Position Qualified Post-Basic | Locum | Pharmacist Assistant Introduction

A vacancy exists for a Qualified, Late Shift, Post-Basic Locum Pharmacist Assistant based at Life Fourways Hospital, reporting to Pamella Mazibuko, Senior Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.

Responsibilities
  • Supplying of medication to the wards and theatre on requisitions and assist with management of all pharmaceuticals within the hospital under supervision of a pharmacist
  • Controlling inventory (ethical and surgical).
  • Assisting in aggressively managing dead stock in the hospital.
  • Stock-take, cycle counts and investigation of variances
  • Processing of patient credits.
  • Replenishing the emergency cupboard.
  • Unpacking ethical and surgical stock, checking expiries and invoices
  • Ensuring that the security protocols are adhered to.
  • Maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Life Sciences
  • Qualification as a Post Basic Pharmacist assistant and registration with the Pharmacy Council
  • Relevant clinical knowledge and experience to the critical outputs
  • Understanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulation and challenges
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
  • Pharmaceutical product knowledge
  • Computer proficiency (MS office)
  • Competent in using Unisolve ®
  • Knowledge of SAP advantageous
  • Ability to work late shifts and weekends
  • Ability to work in both the hospital and retail pharmacy
  • Ability to place orders as per MRP, assist with MIR6 queries, unrecorded liabilities, credits.
  • To conduct Quality rounds
  • Reporting on emergency cupboard and call out trends
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are not be permanently employed anywhere.
