Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a QC Manager for a wine production facility in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will develop and maintain quality management systems, ensure production processes meet quality standards, and manage labs and QC assistants. Candidates must hold a BSc in Food Science or Microbiology and have 5 years of QC experience in a wine production environment. Job description
QC Manager (Wine) job vacancy in Stellenbosch.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development and maintenance of quality management and food safety systems, including HACCP, IPW and assistance with WIETA, Fairtrade and BSCI
  • Manage and ensure quality of all the production processes across various production facilities
  • Ensure quality compliance of dry goods, including machine pass of new products, intake QC, etc.
  • Work with suppliers to solve dry goods related quality issues
  • Manage labs and QC assistants
  • Supplier and product approvals
  • Supply chain mapping and supplier site updates
  • Developing and maintaining material and product specifications
  • Bottling requests and service provider spec sheet approval
  • Maintain all product and quality related information on platforms of our importers and distributors
  • Record and assist in investigation and solving of client complaints
  • Assistance in new product development. Obtain and maintain SAWIS label approvals.

Requirements:

  • BSc Food Science/Microbiology degree or equivalent relevant qualification
  • 5 years QC experience in a wine-production environment.
